It's not necessarily bad. There are some good things, like lower taxes. Our only big concern is that we'll have fewer school choices outside the Seattle School District.
These are extremely minor things but I love the kitchen tile and stainless steel appliances. But as with other houses I've commented on recently, I gotta give a thumbs down to the flowers/frills and lighting fixtures =)
How exciting! I know how hard it is to decide how important the items in the Pro and Con list are. Luckily you have two awesome minds put together to come to a good decision for your family.
What's the giant building across the street?
That article is from Dec 2006 - what's happened since? It seems like annexation would make a pretty big difference in your pro/con list.
Even more than two minds! We brought Treasa to visit the house with us the second time and play building inspector.
The giant building is the back side of the Safeway.
The annexation vote has been delayed multiple times (while the cities try to work out financial deals with the state and feds); I think it's now scheduled for this year. It's still uncertain whether the area will go to Burien or Seattle or be divided between them.
