I can tell that someone two lab computers away from me is listening to rap music on his iPod earbuds. I could probably even identify the song, but I don't recognize it. I'm going to be amused when my peers are forced to retire early because they've gone deaf.

Nah, that's probably not loud enough to make them go deaf. Those darn little earbuds leak half the sound they generate.
