“Why am I still here?” he blurts
When she speaks her voice is heavy. “I did put everything I had into getting back to you. I spent years trying to find a crack between our universes so I could just see you and hear you finish that damn sentence.” Rose looks at him suddenly, her eyes damp as she pulls her knees up to her chest. Anyone reading the marvelously touching (no pun) intimacy scene knows without doubt that he is "a stranger in a strange land". Her actions and answers show the love of a physically and emotionally matured Rose, through her understanding and empathy.
