I've got to say, I'd rather have a few hairs between my teeth than a sexual partner who shaves everywhere. I've been asserting my independence from the patriarchal imaging of women as childlike, helpless and hairless for years.

Oh, yeah, totally - I think the prevailing aesthetic of a hairless vagina is weird and, as you say, smacks of infantilization (though sometimes I do it myself, depending on my mood). I said it here because I was trying to think of a way to word #2 that wasn't sexual, and just kind of went there... and I had trouble coming up with 5. Because I can't imagine any real deterrence to being Hermione's girlfriend!
