End of summer post
It's been a really long time since I've posted anything. One of the reasons was that this summer, I tried to severely decrease my technology use. June and July were spent without flicking on the TV (save for once when I was playing Indiana Jones Lego with my brother-in-law). Experiment
Last night I decided to try an experiment. I found some heavier weight paper, probably twenty-two or twenty-four pound. I took out my India Ink and a dip pen and wrote, by candle light. Why on earth, you may wonder, would I bother doing this when I have computers and an AlphaSmart NEO which does a wonderful job of eliminating distractions ( Read more... ) -
Getting down to it
July has been my "Start submitting work again" month. I've submitted over twenty pieces, be they poetry or fiction or nonfiction. Some of been published, some rejected, and I'm still waiting to hear back about many. But it's got me revved ( Read more... ) -

Apparently, my muse has been on vacation. I suppose I kind of wore out the creative energy last week, because this week, every time I go to write, I either end up staring at a blank screen or I write absolute rubbish that I later delete ( Read more... ) -
Finished Chapter One of AtB!
I finished rewriting Chapter One of Above the Birds. I'll start Chapter Two tomorrow, and hopefully finish it up on Thursday and so on and so forth, though I may not finish that one until Friday because I'm going to see No Doubt in concert Wednesday night.
Going to sleep now! Just wanted to make a celebratory post. :) -
NaNoWriMo Editing begins!
So I finally worked up the courage to show the first chapter of my NaNoWriMo book to other people. I feared it would be so horrifically torn to shreds that I wouldn't want to even bother salvaging it. I also feared it was too generic, as many fantasy genre books can sometimes be. NaNoWriMo book
So it's been six months since I finished the craziness that is NaNoWriMo. And I'm now, finally, ready to take a first look at what I wrote. After editing the first few pages, it's not as atrocious as I feared, which really boosts my spirits. Or at least, I don't think it's atrocious ( Read more... )
