Thank you. Unfortunately, most things are hard to get rid of, just like the haunting memory of my mother's hateful boyfriend. The hurtful words still echo in my mind.

Agreed. A lot of things are hard to forget or suppress. With a lot of patience and ignorance, however, suppression eventually becomes second nature.

I'm not advocating suppressing your memories.
