Recipient: bethbethbeth
Prompt: Severus Snape meets a relative he never knew he had.
Word count: 169
Rating: G
A/N: Warning: Crossover! Sorry, I just had to do it this way; I had no idea who to choose for the relative until I saw your interests and one of them matched up with my most recent obsession. Hope this works for you. The “extinct” line shamelessly stolen from an old New Yorker cartoon.

Peering through the window, Snape saw a man climb out of the vehicle and limp toward the house, a half-smile on his face. Snape kept his wand low and jerked open the door, startling the man who would have lost his balance had it not been for his cane.

“Oh! I thought you were extinct.”

Muggle, indeed, and American to boot. Snape scowled. “May I help you ( ... )

Hee. I haven't been watching the show that long, so I don't know if his background has been covered that far back, but I figure it could explain why he might look a bit English. Ahem. ;-) Whoops, except that Snape *doesn't* look English.....oh, well.

Thanks for the great comments, and I love the icon!

Gregory House as Snape's cousin. You know, that makes a frightening amount of sense. Well done!

Thank you for this!

Yes, I kind of imagine Snape hexing first and asking questions second. Glad you liked it!

Heh, nice icon for those "WTF" times!!

Yeah, I was panicking about who to make related to Snape, and when "House MD" jumped out at me from bethbethbeth's interests because it's in mine, too, the idea nearly gave me a heart attack, it was so perfect. Well, perfect, as in "all I've been reading for the past three weeks has been House slash, so let's use him". Glad you liked it!
