Oh, this was heartbreaking. Being a mother myself, it really hit home. I was sitting here nodding at every other line. Wonderful.

Oh, I love this. It's ever so slightly heart-breaking, but I really respect Lily for making that decision not once but twice.

My computer has been exploding for DAYS, in addition to horrible family camping time over the weekend, making it impossible for me to find this until just now.

I've read a few "Snape tries to save teh Lily, but she lurves Jamesy too much! -or- Snape is teh gross!" fics, so I thought I would throw this out there and see what I got.

Honestly and for really realsies, if I knew someone and they said "I will save you and your child, but you have to leave your husband behind" then my husband would find a hastily written note telling him that I love him, but I love my baby more.

So, you, in less than three hundred words, captured the only reason why I will accept "Lily won't go with savior!Snape" and also the reason why Lily has ten points in my score book.
