Today, as I'm at work and feeling a bit down on myself, the oddest of things popped into my head: I thought of two movies I saw when I was a kid, one in 1981 and one in 1984, that were both movies that undermine (slightly) my "no-horror" position. I have written in various places, especially flickr, where I've felt like not "one of the cool kids" (but have not said exactly that in so many words).  My high school experience was one of non-presence: people knew I existed, but I wasn't really included in things, or was asked as an afterthought.  But it goes farther back, even into my own family ( Read more... )

I seem to have an issue about being around people, interacting, talking, and having fun, and then going home to check social media and ending up miserable.  The good news is that the "misery" last night after I came home from a happy hour was minimal.
