I returned once again to the United States Post Office Lounge and Recreation Area located in West Olympia; the department that makes "Good Enough For Government Work" look like hard work and dedication.
This time the postal clerk asked "why didn't he put this in your box?" Thank You, only why didn't she ask this last week?

Hee! Our postman out at Coopers Glen....our REGULAR postman...would sometimes decide that no, we didn't need that mail....like my birthday card from my dad with a check in it. My dad was angry I hadn't called to thank him. Nothing like an old angry welshman to spur my wrath.

That's partly why I think "substitute" is just something they say to try to deflect everything. Did you ever get the card?

I'm going to hold off one day on the letters to the Postmaster General, Nortwest VP and Inspector General because someone else suggested I stake out the mailboxes and confront the mailman face to face. I have an hour lunch now (oh yeah, they finally made me permanent! I should write you more often) so there's that smidge of a chance the timing might work.
