I hate fucking shady ass people in the Army. Someone stole my box of civilian clothes and souveniers I bought when I was in Qatar. They were locked up in a Connex while I was gone in Danger and when I went to retrieve the stuff today it was gone!! Fucking people!! Watched an Iraqi basic training graduation the other day, pretty nifty. Their basic training is on a island out in the Tigris River. These 2 Iraqi interpreters kept taking pictures of the 2 girls I was with throughout the whole ceremony. They just kept smiling at them until the girls starting taking pictures of them. For R&R the army will fly me anywhere in the world for free and I think I will take advantage of it. So instead of coming home for those 2 weeks I will be going to Paris. I talked about 2 officers getting killed on this FOB last week and it has reached the media. They were supposedly killed by their own supply sergeant who planted a claymore in their room. If anyone wants to read an article about it then here you go ( Read more... )

There is a crminal investigation going on here right now. The officers that were killed last tuesday night were not attacked by the enemy but someone on this FOB. The blast was inconsistent with a mortar and they determined that the blast happened inside the room and the other blasts we heard were caused by grenades. Crazy shit huh? We had no internet all day yesterday because the night before our FOB got hit by a few mortars and 2 officers were killed in their sleeping quarters. One of the guys had only been in Iraq since Sunday. The palace that was hit is really close to us and we jog by it whenever we go on a run.
