I watched a lot of Mr. Rogers in the fall and winter of 2005-2006, when I was in the (one of) depths of that lovely depressive period, and it's one of the things that helped me pull myself back out. In short: don't underestimate the power of Mr. Rogers--and unconditional love/acceptance.

Ansel? You may want to lock this post--or at least the coveting section. At least, I've always regretted posting things like that publicly (or at all, hence I don't do so anymore) and I think you're approximately as private a person as I.

Paid gig? Huzzah! It's weird thinking (your) Frobie won't be walking the streets of Bristol this season, but a part in a stage show sounds awesome. You'll have to tell me about plot and things.

I remember Girl 2 asking you about the formal-- she seemed determined to make it so you could go in addition to her other friends. I dunno other details aside from the fact she seemed nervous that night when you were around and couldn't think of what to say when you obviously weren't too pleased with the idea. Keep in mind that she wants you to go to formal and made efforts such that you could, even though it's been stressful as hell for her. The feeling you expeierienced shows the damage done to your hope. Pipedream or no, that feeling sucks balls.

My main advice would be to not dwell about it, and don't overanalyze. It's a trap!

It's a good thing you don't drink, else there'd be gnome destruction havok.
