I really do wish VCU had people like you when I went there. In the early nineties the attitude was throughly hostile toward anything seen as lowbrow to the faculty. You really would get picked apart for liking comics back then. One of my KD caricature co-workers was told flat out he should quit his job before it ruined him. It has a lot to do with why I never finished art schooling.

It's so annoying when people are snobs about comics & caricatures, because they are both hugely essential to visual communication as a whole. Just looking at the development of sequential art, characters, visual puns & humor, social commentary, and SO many more aspects of comics/caricatures shows that while they may seem simple on the surface, a comic/caricature involves extremely sophisticated understanding of visual communication. I think it shows ignorance when artists and designers act pretentious or stuck up about comics & caricatures.

Alexander is on the swim team. Not too many injuries in swimming I don't think. No parent brawling either, although I'm anxiously awaiting a disgruntled parent to get thrown in the pool. That would rock! But of course it would be very WRONG for the children. very wrong. he he he
