Oh, man! This was so good (although that's not really a surprise).

Interestingly, I just saw a similar thing to your magic here while watching "The Dragon Prince," where someone used dark magic to put another person into a coin or a medal or something. It appeared in that case that the person could see what was going on while they were trapped in the coin, and were definitely still alive. I found myself quite horrified by the idea, and it's neat to come across something similar so quickly

I greatly enjoyed how her backstory unraveled, and how she is constantly trying to forge a way forward with her own true values, apart from those imposed on her by her father, Robin, and even her own inherent magic. I would gladly read a novel about this protagonist!
