Hannibal Rising is possibly the first film about Hannibal Lecter that I have watched and felt genuine sympathy for him. You find out about his family and how they died, why he has this desire to kill and eat his victims, and you start to make excuses in your mind for his cannibalism. Very strange. The Passion of Darkly Noon. Calling this film bizarre is possibly the biggest understatement made by a human in history. Other than saying that Johnny Depp is "nice looking," of course.
