Lubbock and cold weather

Andy and I went to Lubbock this weekend, in search of a new bed and maybe a wedding dress. 2 problems. One: only 1 mattress store in the whole city was open; I had a list of 6 or 7, one store confirmed several days earlier that they'd be open, and we found out through answering machines or lack of answered calls that the others weren't. Problem

yeah it's pretty much impossible to find a wedding shop open on sundays here too...i think david's is one of the only ones. all of the boutiques are only open until 6pm on mon-sat.
