Tasting the Possibilities
A response to a Poke the Dragon prompt by cobblestonepath:
“Miranda and Andy, cooking together.”

Rating: G

A/N: This is an AU event in my AU series, Life Is a Banquet. By which I mean, it doesn’t fit into LIAB as currently outlined (I may try to fit bits of it in later), but it does make use of its characters, Miranda Priestly ( Read more... )

You have no F'ing idea how happy I am that you've started writing this AU again. Fraking delirious!

LOL. This wasn't exactly what I'd been planning on -- look for that in late July, I guess -- but I'm happy to oblige. Thanks for the enthusiastic greeting.

Keeping going -- I'll do my best. I've got this sketched out so chances are good. Just need to do the wordsmithing. Thanks for the encouragement.

There should be a 'like' button on these things - but since there's not I'll just say I agree wholeheartedly with the above!

And I also have to say - this I loved -> "And then, after another mimosa (or three), that should they ever end up marooned together on a desert island neither would kick the other out of their grass hut (which Andy would build and which Miranda would decorate)."

I keep looking for the Like button too. Thanks for the pats on the back. More on Thursday, I hope.

And zingleagain ... Jumping up and down in those boots? Careful! You could twist an ankle!

There's more coming Thursday or so. Good to be back again -- with you and the LIAB crew.

So I'm reading this on my phone on the El and am having the hardest time copying and pasting all the lines I want to relish here in the comment space. But for you, I will put myself through the very arduous paces of resizing, pinching and cursing under my breath that livejournal's mobile assets are so lame that this is actually preferable to the alternative.

I love how adorable this is (and fully enjoyed imagining the rest of what I imagine was a very fleshed-out conversation):
"(which Andy would build and which Miranda would decorate)."

This is also not the first time I've noted that you are so witty and good with alliteration when so many others can only offer clichéd groaners:

"Was it time to stop dancing around the pachyderm in the parlor?"

A good old-fashioned Miranda freakout is always a fun time :)

Quite a wonderful job you've done setting the table, as it were. Thank you.

Oh, and what time shall I come over for lamb? You know, in order to truly appreciate the spirit of the story :)

I'm just hoping I haven't bitten off more than I can chew (grin). Thanks for the prompt -- I think -- and the encouragement. As for dinner ... You *do* realize I write *fiction,* don't you?

P.S. I'm planning on whipping up a lovely Hamburger Helper thing tomorrow; if you're in the neighborhood, do stop in. Bring antacid.

Check back Thursday for the next serving, I think. Wherein both Miranda and Andy ponder that adage about "presentation."
