Is the universe trying to tell me something?

I had signed up to work and have a few runs at a match over the weekend, and it ended up being cancelled due to horrible road conditions (freezing rain over ice, on the dirt roads around her facility). Oy! I was at the "oh, why did I sign up?" stage of my dog show nerves, so part of me was relieved, and part of me is really sad. I'm hoping to make ( Read more... )

Haaa, Freddie and Jodah are a lot alike;) Freddie also loves to eat snow. He cannot make it home form the mountain without peeing if we play in the snow. Also, swimming. He will pee in his crate 10 minutes after we leave the pool because he takes so much water in. Sigh.

And yes, take care of you and yours first. Do not take on what you are not up to taking on.

Border collie boys. The special ones. :-) No wonder I like Freddie so much. Jodah hasn't been swimming much, so I haven't tried that one out yet. I can't wait?

I say no way if you are not into it. It's hard work fostering and like you said you & the dogs have to come first.

Always before, I've gotten to a point where I really wanted to, or something about an incoming picture spoke to me and I knew I needed to foster that dog. That hasn't happened yet, heh. Maybe my own physical sense of self-preservation is kicking in. That would be good.

Yes...but. To restrict him to only a small area where he couldn't run isn't a viable long-term solution, he's a high energy boy and he needs good outdoor exercise. He eats snow on walks too. In fact, the best he does is while playing frisbee, it's hard to eat snow when you are carrying a frisbee in your mouth (he still manages some, hah). Right now, I don't care so much as long as he keeps his pee outside. Yes.

My first aussie Ruben would eat snow to obsession too. Then, yes, peeeeeee and peeeee and peeeee, he actually didn't concentrate his urine at all, ever. So peeing was something of an obsession as well.
I once went hiking with Heather along a really cute wooded stream and he drank a ton of water (and pee'd enough I thought) until we stopped afterward to get a bite to eat and Ruben peed in the cup holders of my car,... Thanks Rube.

AHAHAHAHAHA....(*deep gasping breath*) AHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm totally not letting Jodah see this. NO IDEAS, Jodah!

The worst he's done is pee on the memory-foam bathmat I keep in the living room, and serves dual function as his "go to your mat" place and my cushion for some PT exercises. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had noticed before I knelt in it.

Thank you for the laugh before bed!

How funny is the snow eating story!! So funny. And you can't take him out to pee because he eats more snow! ahahahahahah

And another funny thing is that we are experiencing the same problem but in different hemispheres. Pan is wetting the bed because we are going to the beach afterwork. She drinks a lot of seawater then gets thirsty and drinks water. Then when she falls asleep she pees herself.

Oh no! How embarrassing for her. I'm glad I'm not the only person with a dog who has pee issues. Misery shared?
