Let me take a moment to talk about Office Food. Now, I am rife with pet peeves, I admit that. But I am not entirely convinced that all of my pet peeves are born of irrationality. For instance:

Part I: Crunchy Foods. Sure, some of the world’s most delicious foods are crunchy. Baked Cheetos - crunchy. Pickles - crunchy. < insert crunchy food

Lately I've been having a snack pack in the afternoon. It's delicious, low fat, has the word "snack" in the name, and...is in no way crunchy! Perhaps you should buy a costco crate of snack packs and bring them to work, encouraging soft food. Also, regular microwaves popcorn isn't too crunchy.

No- I agree with pet peeves- especially number one. My #1 major irrational pet peeve is mouth noises. Especially unnecessary mouth noises but people who eat loudly fall into that category.

I am lucky enough to be in a relativly healthy office place. People (although I REALLY enjoy co-bot... I think I will steal it.. yoink) do snack at their desks, but it tends to be things like grapes or yogurt... things like that. Non-smelly, non-crunchy foods. The cafeteria is a completely different story. and that is why I eat out in my car. (That and it means that I don't have to coexist as much with the others)

My snack pet peeves:
Excessive cellophane crinkling. Makes me claw at my seat in the theatre.

Popcorn. Smells wonderful. But once it is consumed, the breathe makes me harf.

Faye, you work in the Health Insurance industry right? Have you noticed that people in the Health and related industries eat the most unhealthy food on the planet?

I certainly have, at least in office based situations. We also work on the 3rd floor and the same people who eat all the crappiest foods take the elevator everywhere.
