It seems like most everyone is having a small Christmas this year. Our family is going to join that growing group. We've had a tough year financially, so not many people are getting gifts from us. Moira has been saying "mama" and "dada" for a while, although in more of a baby-babble way. In the last couple of weeks she's actually starting to say "mommy" and "dada" with a purpose of getting our attention, and in the last few days she's started to say "hi," "hi mommy," and "hi dada." We took Erin to ride a pony today and she had a blast! She loves horses and gets very excited whenever she sees one in a book or on TV. She actually got to pet a horse at a Scottish Festival it is was one of the highlights of her little life. Moira had her 9 month check-up yesterday and again she was in the 95 percentile or above for weight, length, and head size. She weighed 22 lb 5 oz and was 30" long. She's up to 8 steps now before falling! Unfortunately, she also has an ear infection. It's really hard to tell when she feels bad because she is very mellow and stoic and doesn't ( Read more... )

We have 2 guitars in the girls playroom and Erin has decided to show her musical talents. Two nights ago, she got one of the guitars out, laid it on the floor, and started strumming. My littlest girl is getting big! She has mastered crawling, pulling up, and cruising. Today, she tackled the staircase heading up to the bedrooms. Previously, she had made it up one step, then up 2.
