A very very very important update. You know what? Forget important. This is huge, amazing, and historical! It's the day this whole trip has been building up to. Our last night in Europe is spent in THE room I wanted to step into ever since I read it existed and could be booked. (Hint: it's in Edinburgh). If you want photos, here they are:

Before I left on this trip, I mentioned that I had planned my English/Scottish trip like the crazy fan I am. Now you know what I meant! :-)

We're flying home today, and will try to add photos tomorrow. I also need to do something about the quadrillion photos I took at Leavesden studios, until my camera battery ran out. Will let you know when there's more nice stuff to see. :-)

Thanks, Kate! We're home, safe and sound, and missing Europe already. I have so many incredible memories, but spending a day in Jo's room will always rank right up there at the top. I wrote the most important chapter of my book at her desk! (I didn't plan it that way, but that's how it all worked out).

As soon as I read "Edinburgh" I knew what hotel room you were talking about. That's so cool! Thanks so much for sharing your pics.

Are you on your way home? When does the new job start? I hope you still have August for yourself.

Of course you knew what room I meant! We die-hard fans don't need more than a word to guess the rest.:-) I wanted so much to see that bust and that desk! I am lucky and so grateful I had this chance. Also, that my husband is understanding beyond words and puts up with my crazy-fan ideas (not to mentions expenses...). Other than THE room, we also visited Alnwick Castle, aka Hogwarts in the first two movies, which was a long detour from our route. And of course, we spent a whole day in Leavesden Studios. We were told that most people spend 3-4 hours, but the record belongs to someone who spent 13 hours! Let's just say we came closer to the record than the average, and my husband did not utter a single protest, despite his increasingly pale face and glazed eyes.

We got home yesterday, and are slowly chipping away at the mountains of mail and dirty laundry. My new job starts in October. I have two more months to finish the book, and do a round of edits on the first few chapters, so I can start sending inquiries to agents and stuff.
