If that train ride through Connecticut is on the line up to Boston, I thought it was a pretty run (in places). I missed the autumn colours by a couple of weeks, but that's a nice pert of the world. Hard to believe it's so close to NYC.

I only go through lower Connecticut. There are some suburbs which are nice, but it's really nothing special on the whole...mostly just a lot of apartment buildings and subdivisions. I haven't been to Boston yet...it's about 4.5 hours from here.

It gets better the further north you go :) I've only made it as far up as Providence, but the north end of CT was very nice, running along the coast. My parents tell me the bit down from Boston is nice, too (though they weren't overly impressed with Boston itself). Me, I'd quite happily live in RI - it's gorgeous there.

And the train is definitely the way to travel. Even when some numbnuts decides to schedule things so that I just miss a connection and have 57 minutes to wait in a cold and windy Warrington Bank Quay.

They do know the concept of scarcity, but they most likely don't know the word. Much of their weakness is that they have an inability to appropriately express themselves. It's a shame, because the ability to express one self is a powerful thing.
