I have now been back in America for about two months and oddly enough the transition was not as difficult as I had anticipated. In fact, I was freaked out at how smoothly it all went. Senegal Final 3 Weeks
So not that much to report from the final weeks here in Senegal. I have mostly been very busy preparing for finals, writing term papers, and making sure that I have gifts for everyone I need gifts for.

Senegal Week 13
Rural visits in Diofior were truly interesting.
I left Monday morning with a group who were all going to three villages in the same region. Julie, Sarah, Cara, and myself were all headed for Diofior. Week 11/12
Getting back into the swing of things was really difficult after the Easter break, and I was pretty exhausted. Thankfully last weekend was our excursion to Iles du Saloum, which was amazing! Senegal Week 10 or OMG WHERE DID MARCH GO?
The weekend before last my Education and Culture class visited a Daara in Pikine.
A Daara is an Islamic school led by a marabout (teacher) who instructs young Muslim children, teaching them the Koran as well as how to be a good Muslim. The talibe (students) are often boys ages 4-15 and although somewhat less common or in attendance for shorter ( Read more... ) -

The OIC conference has passed with very little exciting or newsworthy events taking place. I have to say, I watched some of the coverage on tv and Pres. Wade (who is really old and crazy) was not that interesting. So that was that.
