It's true though - Meyer just throws in an awareness that Bella gets periods in the final book and it makes the reader stop and wonder how this hasn't been a problem already when a single tiny drop of blood in book two makes Jasper go crazy! Madness...Maybe Meyer has some internal logic that it is "dead" blood, not fresh, so doesn't make them go crazy. Who knows!
