Fake Memories

Jun 27, 2006 22:08

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

Megan, I'll never forget the way we met: I was a fifth grade teacher, fresh out of college. You were a brilliant but troubled private school kid, a few months older than most of the kids in your class. You were 12, I was 21. You were an obscenely bad speller but I always gave you A+es because I knew one day, when our age difference of 9 years didn't loom so creepily large, we might be able to be friends. And then we could laugh about the time you misspelled "country" without the o.

Megan- I've always meant to apologize for how things happened. It's far past time to put those events behind us, and if you can admit that we both initially thought that selling drugs to the more impressionable middle-college students to raise the money was a good idea then I think we can finally start the healing.

Everyone agreed that buying a family of miniature goats to graze the roofs on campus would be a great idea, but we were the ones that took the initiative and we should still be proud of that. I'm sorry I lost the goat catalogue and had to have a second one mailed to us. I now accept that this is probably how the DEA caught on.

I'm so very sorry that I left you shackled to the rest of that chain-gang. I should have thrown you key, but I panicked. I can only hope this is something you're able to forgive.

That is all behind us now. But I do need your help with something. I have a line on some possibly less than kosher Albanian minks. Suffice to say, this is going to be the most beautiful wedding gown ever!

Remember that night in the Highlands, just you, me and that sheep? It was one of the best nights of my life, even if I do occassionally pick wool out of my teeth.

Sheep, goats, possible sexual misconduct. I am sensing a trend.

For me it is all about when our firstborn hit the fearsome fours. You would stay out at the bar all night, drinking, smoking, doing whichever substances you could get your hands on, for you were really a werewolf and if you were around a four year old child of your own, you would have no choice in the matter but to cut the child in half and fashion a robot body for it to remain functional in. The world was not ready for half-breed robot werewolves at the time. Those were the days, I tell you.

I still don’t think they are my love. Why must the world be so cruel?
