It's truly a shame.

NOTIFICATIONI hereby announce that I condemn CI YAOI - http://community.livejournal.com/ci_yaoi - for what they are doing. They steal download links and files from scanlation groups, post and reshare the files without permission from the groups. They have no respect whatsoever to the people who buy ( Read more... )

It makes me sigh. I do what I do because it's fun and most people really appreciate a group's work, but I do not like having people act entitled over it.

(Speaking of which, thank you for all that YOU do.)

:) You're in good company. Several scanlators have been posting about what I hear is CIYaoi's recent revival and not to join that community. Scanlators like you do so much for fans, that I kind of feel the least a fan can do is pick up the file from the website of the scanlator that did all the work.

Honestly, the first time I see that community, I am really happy because I saw the work of scanlation group that I really love but got kick out( Thou I respect the rule and many members also got kick out).

"Great! Gonna download it right now", thou I know that it's wrong but you know, I love yaoi!

Anyway, there have a storm now and scanlation group has their own rules, I will get myself out of there. Just my 2 cents. :)

Well, I do see why people would want to download from her, as I see how the demand is there. While it is those who continuously download from her that causes her to want to keep doing this, I would assume that whether or not it were a large number or just a few (close friends or whatever), she'd do whatever she could to get their approval too. She seems the type to thrive on feeling as if she's needed or liked by others, even if it means trampling on someone else.

She uses people, much like yourself, who love yaoi but do not have access to certain groups for her own self-gratification and then it only makes her head bigger in the end. I'm kind of doubtful there would be much of anything that can be done to stop her too.

It would be best for you, in the long run, to avoid her and her communities though, if scanlation teams ever decide to reopen membership to their communities. Also, I admire that you admitted to using it. I think it takes a lot, considering the reputation of that community. ♥ I hope you get into the comms you want

I understand the aggravation of being kicked out of a scanlation group for whatever reason. Attractive Fascinante is now a closed community and I didn't get membership before that happened, and I love their scans. For whatever reason they chose that status it is indeed sad for those of us on this side, but it's because of those like ci_yaoi that they are forced to close their doors to the yaoi fans. ci_yaoi has openly declared to share files of sites that has pleaded again and again not to have their files shared outside of their own community. I'll admit that they won't receive any help from me. But then again, I'm stingy with my yaoi, I don't share with anyone. lol So no scanlation group has to worry about me sharing their beloved files.

So that's the rumored group. I just clicked on the link and read their policy. Weird. And shifty.
