**5th day: Today, I was daring enough to try something I haven’t done in forever; something that is very strange for me. I went to McDonalds… Something I haven’t done in some 3 or 4 years. Not only is that a place I never frequently went to before, I also fell victim to Supersize Me when it came out. I planned on never eating there again ( Read more... )

Haha-- You packed so much into this entry. Milkshakes are yummy, for sure. And "Real Women Have Curves," if I'm thinking of the right movie, was really good.

"by the time it’s finished my appetite has been quenched."

Ahhh, yes. I hate that. We call it "cook's mouth". I try to combat it by snacking/sampling while I cook. So even if I am uninterested when it is done, I still have munched a bit while it was cooking. Also, it is pretty neat to see how the flavors transform during the cooking process.

The milkshake thing: better to make them yourself, imho. When I had my wisdom teeth out, I ate about a gallon a day of chocolate milkshakes. Icecream + milk + blender. Adjust the proportions according to your thickness tolerance. I was not (as much) the foodee back then, so I did not experiment with heavy cream...

Mm yeah, munching a bit is a good idea. That way I can eat a bit while cooking and then later, since I haven't had a full meal or dinner, I'll probably be starving and I can eat a ton then.

Yeah, I know homemade milkshakes should be better, but, well maybe I just suck at making them or something, they never taste as good as the ones from restaurants. I may be using the wrong sort of vanilla. I'll practice though. I've heard a lot about people using cream in their shakes for extra calories, but have never tried it myself. I don't even know what cream really is...

Great Post. McDonald's is OK every now and then, at least they are usually cheap, but yeah, I've been to Whataburger, and that's where you should go, try their double w/ large fries and a milkshake. I agree the homemade milkshakes can be the best, and you can experiment w/ all kinds of yummy and fattening varities. If you do a milkshake binge can't wait to hear about it!

I agree, McDonalds is in no way the best place, but I'll probably hit it up every once and awhile from now on. All I ever have from Whataburger is the milkshakes, but I'll try your suggestion.
