Two days ago, there was a series with Ulrich Mühe on Arte, the French-German TV channel. I thought: here's an actor who's a star in Germany, and is almost totally unknown in France. I then searched his name on Wikipedia, and I was very surprised to read that he died on July 23, 2007. He was only 54

Quelques excellents acteurs nous ont quittés. Ils sont irremplaçables.
J'aimais beaucoup Bergman. Serrault pouvait jouer n'importe quoi, il le faisait toujours avec brio. Quant à Mühe, je ne le connaisssais que très peu. De visage, oui mais son nom... C'est dommage d'ailleurs de ne pas connaître le nom de personnalités intéressantes.

Et on apprend aujourd'hui que Michelangelo Antonioni est mort hier, à l'âge de 94 ans.

Ces deux réalisateurs mythiques avaient leur carrière derrière eux, mais Michel Serrault pouvait encore jouer des rôles intéressants et Ulrich Mühe avait encore un bel avenir devant lui...

I've not seen that movie either, actually, and I don't get out to the films anymore. I don't watch TV much either. I'm slowly becoming a moving images illiterate.

That was a terrible loss of talent. I am not as familiar with the others but was particularly saddened by Ingmar Bergman's death.
