The point Malouf made about “story telling (as) a kind of public dreaming” stood out to me as well. Well, this week our focus was on David Malouf’s Conversations at Curlow Creek. I was about half way through the book when we had the lecture and I at that stage in all honesty didn’t particularly care for the book. The whole ‘brain explosions’ and this being the best part of literature because your given the opportunity to break down a poem with such a diverse group of people meaning all these different interpretations emerge each with its own insight, depth and creativity.
