Dream Drabble: Chapter 18

It was Friday and Mikee is now feeling better, she woke up early then she smiled when she saw her brother and cousin sleeping beside her. She was about to get up when March also woke up “do you need something?” Mikee smiled and answered “nope, I am fine go back to sleep Ackie, I would just take a bath”
March just nodded then Mikee turn to go to the bathroom, after about 30 minutes she got out and noticed March dozed off beside the bathroom door. Mikee shake her head and tap March’s shoulder “Ackie, I am feeling better you can go back to sleep” then March stood up and get back to bed Mikee smiled, cover March with comforter and give him a kiss on his forehead.
Mikee went down and saw Aya and Allen “good morning” the twins smiled “feeling better?” Aya asked Mikee who nodded “yup a lot better I need to work for today, so can you guys take care of them? I would just be out for a couple of hours” Aya smiled “sure they are all still sleeping” Allen shake his head “Don’t exhaust yourself alright?”
Mikee chuckle “I would just do a site visit and make a report and submit it to dad then I am done” Allen nodded then asked “do you want me to drive you home?” Mikee smiled “if that’s okay since my cousin and brother are still sleeping in my bedroom” Allen smiled “sure let me just grab my keys” then Mikee faced Aya “just asked them what they wanted to do and if they wanted to go home since tomorrow morning we would be flying to Florida”
Aya nodded “yup, btw do you have a place where these guys can stay?” Mikee smiled and nodded “I am just waiting for a call confirmation” Aya shake her head “ I’ll leave it all to you then” Allen called her “M, car is ready” she give Aya a kiss “will discuss about it later” Mikee needed to get home to change to corporate suit before going to the site.
At the site, Mikee parked her car then try to take in a deep breath before going out of the car. The foreman was able to recognize her “Engineer Alfaro it's been a long time” Mikee smiled and offer her hand “Tom, I am just here to make my rounds and give report to Dad” Tom smiled “I see, it may take a while since the building is kind a big” Mikee nodded “I am expecting it so shall we start?” the foreman nodded and lead the way.
Frezzy on the other hand was discussing things with Aya and Steph “so we would be asking them if they wanted to go home to Mikee and we would be leaving from there?” Aya nod “most likely since she is working today” They were unable to notice that Ashley and Sho are on the stairs “Where did M run off to again?” Frezzy smiled and answer her “working on site”
Ashley shake her head “yeah, she mentioned her schedule including about sending a report to her Dad” Aya nod and smiled at Sho “Ohayou, are the other still sleeping?” Sho nod “yeah but Aiba is up just taking a shower, does M has other work besides being a photographer?” Ashley and Aya look at each other, then Steph grab Allen’s wallet and got a card “here it is take a look” then gave Sho Mikee’s calling card
Sho’s eyes widen “She is a licensed Engineer!” the girls laugh along with Allen “M, would have love your reaction” everyone look at March who is now also descending from the stairs along with their cousins “it’s not that she is not proud of it, but it's also one of the things she love doing and wanted to personalize it” then Ace continued “She earned that title on her own”
Sho was still gaping “she send herself to school, worked her ass off and get the said title, then when she was offered a scholarship in japan she also took it” then Erwin continued “photography is just a hobby at first she grab the opportunity to study in Japan but it got serious when she ventured with her friends, it's also a way to hide her personal life just like the rest of her best friends” he gestured to where the girls are.
Allen was caught by Aya smiling “what is it?” Allen smiled “M is wearing her corporate attire and well I am not used to it that’s why” Frezzy and the other laugh while Sho was just looking at them, Ashley smiled at his direction “let just wait till the others wake up so you would be able to see how M is working on site” then March asked permission to leave “we need to go Aya, Allen thanks” Aya answered “it's nothing, do you have shift?” March nodded “yup 4 days then I would see you guys in Florida, but Ace and Erwin will be with you to guard princess from those 5 practically”
Aya laugh while Steph pouted “Nii-chan you guys are no fun” March smiled and says “Sorry but it’s a brother thing you know” then with a wave “see you guys later at abuelo’s, I would take these two with me” Aya shouted back “Nii-chan we need another driver we want them to see how M works” March smiled and nodded “just drop by at abuelo’s place I would ask them to prepare a ride”
Aya gave March a thumbs up “you’re simply the best Ackié” March gave Aya a salute before going out of the door. Aiba is now descending from the stairs and asked “ehh what did I missed?” Sho answered him “a lot let's wake those guys up we need to see this” then drag Aiba back up to their room to wake up the other three while the girls laugh.
They were able to make it in time to spy Mikee while doing her site visit. Mikee is wearing a hard hat, with her skirt, blazer and heels Sho was amazed while the other four were asking why is Mikee doing the site visit Sho show them Mikee’s calling card and all of them gape while Erwin and Ace were secretly taking photos to show it to Mikee later.
Then they saw another man approach Mikee “Eng. Alfaro what a surprise” then offer his hand Mikee turn and answer “Eng. Blanco, good timing I have something to discuss with you” the man smiled yet nervous “what is it?” Mikee pointed out a post at the far end of one building “I didn't know we are copying the leaning tower of Pisa” arching her brow “where is Architect Tailor? Didn’t he received my email that I would be here?”
Blanco smiled sheepishly then answered “sorry he would be late since I asked him to get some reports to present to you” Mikee nodded “call him up tell him to wait for us instead, I am done doing the rounds anyway” then face the foreman “thank you for today Tom, you can go back to your post, and don’t forget to stop working on the 2nd building and the connection try to work on the first building first. I would inform you when it would resume” Tom nodded and bow his head “yes, my lady” Mikee smiled “stop it Tom, I would be calling you after I talk to them”
Then Mikee opened her car but before getting inside “Eng. Blanco follow me to the office call in Arch. Tailor tell him to prepare the conference room along with other engineer who is with you in this project” Blanco nodded and pull out his cell phone “right away engineer”

Mikee entered the room along with Engineer Blanco and there were 2 more men who rose up “thank you for being here today, although I am under the impression that you guys were informed I would be visiting today right?”
The two gentlemen nodded then Arch. Tailor rose up and handed her the blueprint “thank you Arch. I wanted to ask who is supervising the 2nd building.” Arch. Tailor is hesitating then Mikee continued “do I need to find it out myself?”
Arch. Tailor sigh and speaks “that would be Eng. Fabio” Mikee not paying attention to the person sitting across Arch. Tailor started “Eng. Fabio please remind me of how long have you been doing this again?” Eng. Fabio swallow hard before answering “I have been in the company for 8 years”
Mikee arch her brow “is that so, I have been on this industry for about 4 years now, is the company giving you all the benefits you needed? Like health insurance and monthly general checkup?” Eng. Fabio again take a deep breath and bow his head “Yes, the company is giving me all the compensation I needed” Mikee nodded “good, now please help me understand how this mistake was overlooked at?”
Eng. Fabio looked at Architect Tailor and Engineer Blanco while Mikee raised her head this time “what seems to be the problem Engineer?” then shake her head “when was the last time you visited the site?” Eng. Fabio was unable to answer “do you have other site assign to you beside this one?” Fabio shake his head “no ma’am, I am able to finish the other site about two weeks ago”
Mikee shake her head and stated “I am disappointed honestly Fabio, if you can't handle site visit you can ask your juniors to do it for you. This is being irresponsible” then Mikee tried to calm herself down “do you still knew how to read blueprints? Or would you want to attend a seminar about it? I can insert that with my schedule”
Fabio got all flushed “Engineer it seems to me that the company is just paying you for nothing” Fabio swallowed hard again but still unable to speak “how are you going to resolve this? And to think that this is actually one of the biggest clients we have” Architect Tailor cleared his throat “Eng. not to worry I would look it up and make some necessary adjustments”
“Would you now? Without compromising the design that the client demanded?” Eng. Blanco also speaks “yes, Eng. I would make sure to closely monitor this as well” Mikee nodded “Eng. Fabio I would expect you to resolve this right after about a week I would need a report sent to me directly from your schedule site visits” then Mikee faced Architect Tailor “make necessary adjustments with the materials and budget we have”
Then eyed Eng. Blanco “however, I will not approve any additional cost on this and the supplies should still be quality if you want you can use the money from your pockets but the company will not pay for anything about the said post. Do I made myself clear?” The 2 men nodded so Mikee faced Fabio “it is really disappointing that one of the best Eng. my dad used to brag about is losing his charm”
Fabio sigh “sorry Eng. I would see to it that this won't happen again” Mikee just looked at him with a poker face “better be, or else I would need to let go of you” Fabio raised his head to face her and saw her serious expression “fix this and I might be able to overlook at the things happening within the past couple of years. Don’t you think I didn’t know what is happening?”
Fabio bow his head again and says “yes, I won't disappoint you again just please don’t mention this to your dad” Mikee smiled mockingly this time “too late, I already send in the report to Dad so you can expect another emergency meeting on this project. dismissed” then all of the gentlemen get out of the room while Mikee grab all the papers she have asked get back to her office.
While in the other conference room Mikee’s friends and Arashi are gathered “Wow, she sure is strict” Aiba voiced out, Frezzy smiled “M, is a perfectionist so that can’t be helped specially on the fields she loves” then Ace and Erwin asked them to get out of the building for now and wait till Mikee go home. They all agreed but Jun was a bit uneasy Steph give him a pat on his shoulders “no worries, she would forgive that pretty face” then Leigh laugh “yeah specially Ohno and Nino” Aries shake his head “I guess it's normal since you guys didn't know”
