By Nietzsche? Yep. Damn I wish you were here so we could discuss this. I'm a total Nietzsche nut. Just check out my userinfo and the Nietzsche quote there! Nietzsche is a big part of the reason I like Michel Foucault, a modern French philosopher who, in his own eccentric way, took up where Nietzsche left off (in my view--it's certainly arguable).
What are your thoughts about the idea of the will to power?
right now, i just finished the first part of the first book on nihilism. its a lot to take in, i feel like im missing so much of it. despite that im enjoying all the ideas that are being tossed at me. honestly some of its a little harsh. interesting nonetheless.
Nietzsche for Beginners is a great little book, I think. It would make a good companion to Will to Power. The "Writers and Readers" series--you might have seen these books at the bookstore, they almost look like comic books? I have a ". . . for Beginners" book of almost every philosopher I'm interested in, and they really, really do help. Chomsky for Beginners is effin' great, as is Foucault for Beginners. They kind of break down the bigger ideas into easier-to-understand concepts, which you can then use as a kind of foundation for approaching that philosopher's works. Marx for Beginners--another great one >;)
