:)

1. I used to keep a list in a journal but I switched to a word doc- so nothing fancy. I have kept track for years & my sister does too.
2.) I have read the hiding place many times, and seem the movie. My sister & I read the book growing up & she has been to the house in the book, in Amsterdam.
3.) I have read hardly any sk, so I can't compare to other books. I though the book was interesting but sk should not try to write romance, it is painful to read.
4.) yes I have both read & listened to all the Harry potter books many times.
I love to read but end up listening more than reading only because I can do that while I paint or am on the bus, etc.

it's a really different experience. i mean i experience a book really differently if i read them vs. hearing them, and the reader becomes part of the story and the experience. for reference, these were the best written (to me) of what i read / listened to this year ( ... )

Perfect timing. I'm going shopping in your list to find something(s) to add to my library list, :D

if you read all the comments in this thread, i did say some of my fans... i think you might like the Bright Empire series by Stephen Lawhead. Christian fantasy - though the Christian elements are not really obvious right away, they do come into the story line. It's going to be 5 books, and 4 are out so far!
The Skin Map
The Bone House
The Spirit Well
The Shadow Lamp

also I think you'd like the Alcott books! Louisa was a woman of many surprises. I could not help thinking she would have been much happier if she had lived in our time when she could have had more freedom, to do things that only men could do then, like travel alone... and back then women could not be writers AND wives and she could do both today... plus she had chronic pain - possible its and lupus, they are not sure, and she would have had access to better health care now, too. i was trying to imagine what she would write if she were alive today.

I will definitely check out the series and I loved Louisa's writing so the Alcott books should work for me. Thanks so much! xoxoxo
