OMG. We just saw the worst movie ever. We watched it because we anticipated it to be so... but how it went from Point A to Point Bad was amazing. Amazing.
Why would you (or anybody else for that matter) intentionally waste an hour and a half of their lives watching a movie they expect to be bad?! I mean there are enough movies out there that I think I would enjoy that I never get around to watching that I can't really imagine electing to watch a movie I know won't entertain me.
By the way we saw "Milk" the other day. It was pretty interesting and still relevant to current political issues. You should check it out if you haven't seen it yet.
But it DOES entertain. Just in a different way. Or you could compare it to slowing down when passing a wrecked car. People are intrigued by horrible, horrible accidents. And this movie... was an accident of historic proportions.
Alright, I guess if you guys were entertained that's what counts. Not that I've turned off a movie that I rented, and I've only walked out of one movie ever (the English Patient - I wasn't patient enough!) And I recognize that a lot of the movies I like wouldn't be called good by many critics. But I certainly wouldn't characterize them as terrible movies. It just takes a slightly underdeveloped sense of mystery and a little overdeveloped testosterone to really appreciate Arnie:)
