I haven't posted in a while partially because I've been busy... partially because I was holding off to give all the news, some bad mostly good, until I had the overarching good news. And I got it yesterday. I gots me a job.

OMG. We just saw the worst movie ever. We watched it because we anticipated it to be so... but how it went from Point A to Point Bad was amazing. Amazing.

Work at a book store is... all right. The commute is not great and although I can handle working at a register (about half of my day) and I'm decent at it, it's certainly not ideal. I'm seeing quite a bit of activity with applying to other jobs though. I tested for a job this week for one and have a very good prospect that I'm excited about that I' ( Read more... )

Apparently, in Chicago they have strange ways of turning on and managing the water flow in the shower. There are strange buttons and knobs that I'm only beginning to understand. I've always been told that the red button is bad... but in the shower in our new apartment, red buttons can be good...

I was offered a job within an hour of interviewing today and I took it. It's in no way ideal, but it could be much worse as well. It's at a book store. The pay is not good. So I had one phone interview yesterday, I put in an application yesterday afternoon and expect an interview in the next couple days for a different position, I have an interview this afternoon, a meeting in the morning for a start-up nonprofit that won't result in a job immediately but could be exciting and become something I grow into, and I have ( Read more... )

This is the beginning of moving day. Or moving weekend. Packing up today, leaving early tomorrow morning.

I've got a number of potential job prospects, ultimately relying on temp jobs in the short term. Too much is in the air... not the ideal but I'll take what I can get. We'll survive.

I'm selling my car.

If anyone knows of anyone... well, let me know. We're going down to one vehic in Chicago. If I don't sell it in the next couple weeks, I guess I'm selling it in Chicago... or maybe having someone sell it for me in St. Louis... we'll see...
