Sometimes I pay attention to more than just memes...
Apparently, LJ's doing something hokey with user content that links back to other websites that use affiliate numbers. Something that gets them money. The last time they did this sort of thing the people who wrote the code were bad at it and it broke lots of links and lost LJ users who use affiliate numbers a lot of money.
