Got the first step in fixing the Subaru done, and picked it up today (new calipers, rotor, pads, transmission cable and bushings...). In excess of $1K.(*insert happy cash-register sound here, followed by short gasp*) Good thing Barclay just raised the limit on my credit card ( Read more... )

How many miles are on the car? Everything you mentioned sounded like the usual wear for a 5 yr old car and or hitting the 100K mark.

Mind you subaru repairs are more costly, but they are reliable.

150,000 plus. Fourth set of calipers.

We just put new tires (Continental Pro-Contact) on our 2011 Outback. Including stems and lifetime rotation, they were around $580 using a discount at Sears.
