that's really funny... i was going to watch back to the future with my sister tonight... she went ahead and watched it. if i had a flux capacitator, i'd go back in time and watch it. *grin*
no really, that's a thought-provoking post. thanks for sharing!
but chris, if we could go back and change it, it would have already happened, so really, nothing would be changed. Or if it didnt, and you create paradox and one of 2 things happens. 1. nothing will change whatsoever in the grand scheme, in fact the situation will only get worse (ex. HG Wells) or 2. The entire universe will be pushed to one side of the other in its simultaneous existance/lack thereof and everything will either become so real it will destroy itself or cease to exist entirely.
Very, very cool post, Chris. I definitely agree with your point in that there's a final destination and a great plan. I'm not even speaking religiously, it's just that in my experience I've learned that absolutely everything happens for a reason. My whole research project for English dealt with how someone's hardships and obstacles don't keep someone from reaching his/her goal but rather strengthen and help that person. If it weren't for those hardships, or mistakes as you also put it, then how would anyone except to appreciate, much less reach, that destination?
Again, awesome topic. I love this thought-provoking crap.

And you don't know the destination, do you? Thus, how can you say it's not gonna be fun.
