Perhaps some Madeleine Peyroux for you. Dreamland covers some older classic song (her La Vie en Rose is amazing!) and Half a Perfect World is more original stuff.
Ahhh. Song is not new - I've just rediscovered it. I have an album of MM's (cor de rosa e carvao) from 1994 with this track on it, and it seems to credit a Carlinhos Brown 1993 with it, and he ugh, 'plays'? the matraca on my version.
Ms Peyroux's range of covers looks bieno - will check her out. Had never heard of her. Gracia~
