Did you ever play this game as a kid? I think it was a camp thing... we'd make up silly stories and everyone had to say one line.... like, fortunately, I found $20 on the street... unfortunately the wind blew it away. Anyways, that's kinda how I've been feeling lately... my emotions have been up, down, and all over the place... so here goes...

I can only empathize Mel...its not an easy thing and its tough to find someone who you connect with. I've never connected with anyone really. One girlfriend from high school that turned out to be loony. Learned a few things and it wasn't all bad so I don't look back on that as a mistake or a waste of time but since then nobody...tried a few times but it never worked out. Lately I don't even want to be with anyone. I'm trying that whole "enjoying being single thing" which is OK...but you're always aware of being the single guy at the table surrounded by couples. I'm sure its quite the same being the single girl at the table too

Thanks :) As for the speed dating, the only ones I've ever done have been Jewish ones through a synagogue or similar Jewish organization, so I can't really help ya out with that one... have you ever tried lavalife? A coworker of mine recently joined and is having mild success (as in, she's been on lots of dates, but nothing that stuck).

In other news, mostly because I just need to share, I just ordered the Angel series set off Amazon.com for $63 (including shipping) that's like $13 a season... I'm stoked... and I think it will make an excellent display piece on my new shelves (let's ignore the fact that I shouldn't be spending money right now).
