I am so depressed about the election. Not the national results, mind you, but the local results.

I live in a state which overwhelmingly voted to write discrimination against gays into our constitution.

What's next, "Straights Only" drinking fountains?

I agree... it's so overwhelmingly disgusting. It makes me want to move. T_T

That's funny I see myself as a social liberial but fiscal conservative and I don't get why so many of you are upset about this. This whole issue hasn't even been an issue until like two years ago. When I say that I mean atleast not among the gay people I know in my local area.

If you get gay marriage past could we work on legalizing having multi heterosexual relationships next?? Jerri Lynn might want to have an extra husband or two.

Well, that's interesting, because it's been an issue among the gay folks I know for at least fifteen years. Clearly no one you know has ever been denied access to their terminally-ill lover by an in-denial family that wants to keep their son or daughter in the closet. Or denied health insurance because their partner isn't eligible. Glad their lives have been going so smoothly.

So many of us are so upset about this because we believe everyone should have equal rights under the law.

If Jerri Lynn wants multiple husbands, it's fine with me.

Hmmm, I think you need to go ask a few black men about how they feel about gays before you make that leap putting it all on "whitey". The black guys on the construction site tend to be gay haters. So, I say not so appropriate.

The analogy is actually that gays are being discriminated against now in similar ways to how blacks used to be discriminated against. I don't like discrimination. Period.

What is wrong with people that they don't get that the "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" thing is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution? Oh, for a Supreme Court who would actually look out for the rights of the oppressed!

Stupid, indeed. So stupid, the same law passed again this year. Like, once wasn't enough? You need double-strength bigotry?
