uncertainty

it's official
it's official... i've been offered and am going to formally accept a position with alberta infrastructure. my last day at ledingham is going to be july 3 - and i'm very sad to say goodbye to my wonderful job there. my new position will most likely start on monday july 13 and i booked my moving truck for july 7 ( Read more... ) -
my first place
i'm totally getting the itch again! i really want to buy my own place - in the past month i've looked at six properties, but none of them were right. i don't want to miss out on a great opportunity to get into the real estate market while prices and interest rates are so low, but it's taking me forever to find something i want to put an offer on. mini break

sleepy
i went to the sleep disorder clinic on wednesday for my first appointment. i had to tell the doctor about nearly every aspect of my life, it was kind of weird to pour my heart out to a complete stranger but i didn't want to leave anything out in case she needed it to fully access my situation. the result is i have a new bedtime, 11pm and i have to ( Read more... ) -
day one
mah first day home is really kind of weird. i went to the doctor's this morning for my weekly allergy shot at 8am, so didn't even let myself sleep in! i had to ride my bike there because i'm getting my brakes redone by my uncle. i was home for an hour and then my mom and i rode our bikes to the leisure centre for a fitness ball class. bike ride ( Read more... ) -
recession
the economic downturn has really affected the A&D industry and my firm has been able to avoid any drastic repercussions up until now, but that's about to change. we applied for, and were accepted to the Work Share program; basically we reduce our hours by 20% and the government will pay 55% of my reduced hours. in other words, i go from five to ( Read more... ) -

every few weeks i get a major itch to decorate something! argh, it's so frustrating not to have my own place. i'm jealous of people that get to move into little tiny, baby apartments because they get to furnish and accessorize them. i don't know what it is, but i really want to organize drawers and put things away and make them look nice! it's ( Read more... )
