When I'm working, I'm pretty much constantly listening to music. And one thing that can help keep me focused is really long songs. The break between one 3-4 minute song and the next can be a little distracting, but there's a nice continuity in listening to the same song for the time it takes to complete one long thought. I'm in the middle of another big travel spree. Two weekends ago I was in Seattle visiting sillyliddy for Thanksgiving, last weekend I drove to Pasadena to visit Tucker, and this Friday I'm flying to Boston to visit again!

Things I learned in Seattle:

• Good cranberry sauce really does exist. Adding brown sugar and orange peel helps.

We have to put Abi down this week.

After going back to the vet with Naomi and talking to them further, we've decided against surgery, since it would be expensive, painful, and have a low chance of success. We're going to let Abi continue with a normal life for as long as she has it, but when the tumor spreads to other organs and causes them to fail, or grows too large, we'll have ( Read more... )

Went back to the vet today. At first, she though that it would be an easy surgery to remove the tumor, but upon further examination, she thinks it's mammary cancer. Mammary cancer is apparently pretty aggressive in cats. It spreads easily to the rest of the mammary tissue and other organs; the standard way to treat it is to remove the tumor and ( Read more... )
