past years:
2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 The method: Copy and paste the first sentence of the first entry of every month this year into one fun-filled entry.
january: I has new $22 speakers from Fry's that came with a subwoofer. I have never had a subwoofer before.
february: i was going to post all the guinea pig nom jokes david and i came up with last night, but i just got back from the vet with twee and the vet says she has cancer.
march:
photos of pigs and a hippo.april: typing hurts at the moment, but this is Garfunkel pig. he is simultaneously calm and loud.
may: Nori pig died this morning.
june: i have a work laptop...so now when i work crazy overtime, i can at least go home and eat something. other than that i am trying to stay away from the computer, because now i have fun stabby jaw pain in addition to my usual shoulder/neck/wrist fun, and i'm not even sure who to start seeing about that.
july: public service announcement: david and i are going to be in philly from august 24 - 30, if anyone wants to grab some rita's.
august: I apparently didn't post anything in August.
september: or September.
october: today was seattle's annual amateur porn festival, hump!, and i must provide my traditional recap.
november: oh goodness it's been awhile.
december: and this is my first post of December.
these numbers are kinda fubar because i deleted some of the duplicate questions and couldn't be arsed to fix them.
1. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
witness death.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Let's see..."My main new year's resolution is to knit a fucking sweater, because it seems that everyone else has finished sweaters and I am feeling left out."
Status: Fail. I finished one hat (last month) and worked on a clapotis.
"I'd also like to find a way to rearrange my life so it has room for a dog, but that might not be a one-year project, and I can't think of where to start. "
Status: Exactly the same as last year.
I don't think I'm bothering for next year except to try to be less of an asshole, and I have vague intentions of eating less crap, but I say that a lot. I dreamed I had a really great resolution, but I forgot what; it might have been "stop making resolutions I'm not going to keep anyway."

other highlights of 2009:
in local news,
seattle was closed due to rain, and we were
invaded by a bear.
highlights from twitter:
my car's going to hit 100,000 miles on the way home today. I put all but 16 of them on myself. 4:55 PM May 8th, 2009 from web

i think...i think this might be decaf. 11:25 AM Jan 23rd, 2009 from web
i made fail cookies and win tiramisu, which i think is all the cooking i did this year. oh, i made one omelet and no one died.
twee pig was
diagnosed with cancer in early february and, after a month of pig hospice and watermelon-flavored medicine, passed away on
march 12th. i adopted garfunkel from the seattle animal shelter on
april 2nd. and spent the next month trying to get him to stop humping nori every time he saw her. (he was either in denial that he's fixed or it was a dominance thing.) so they never did live together (though they were within wheeking/smelling distance) before she quit eating and
died a month later. they are
buried in the backyard.
the cat
purred a lot, and
had to have surgery, but is better now.
David and I went to Texas for Heather's wedding, and got to hang out with everyone and it was awesome.
I celebrated my fourth Seattleversary, for some values of "celebrate" that are closer to "noticed".
i have been putting off making a dentist appointment for...uh since i moved out here...and putting off fixing my car's hood latch since january. and i never did get around to seeing anyone about my jaw issues, although they seem to have improved on their own (85% or so). i did, however, get around to making a hair appointment, thanks to
sabdapranam, and getting most of my hair cut off. this is still awesome.
i still need to cross stitch "Cats are assholes. Have some pasta." I have several other cross-stitch projects I need to finish; at least
one moved with me from the east coast.
and...yeah. pigs dying, new pig, RSI fun, procrastination, philly, and texas. that was pretty much 2009 right there.
trying to get psyched up for this party, even though i know perfectly well i had fun last year. it's hard not to enjoy being surrounded by dogs.
