The Scottish games I went to here in June had an entire masters division, 8 guys over 50 still chucking heavy things around. The oldest was in his 70's but he didn't look that old (throwing heavy stuff = fountain of youth)
I am totally competing in the womens's group next year, even if I suck it will be tons of fun and I will get to meet all the guys in kilts :) including the professional ones because our games have a pro division.
Didn't they have the sheaf toss? Where they use a pitchfork to throw a heavy burlap bag filled with straw over the high bar?
That's awesome how women are allowed in the states, and I had to look up what a sheaf toss is, which I guess is only popular in the states and Ireland since all the games we looked at in Scotland had the other 5 events.
