Man, so much to say, where to start?

So, okay, roller-coaster has been consciously shelved and things are going well there. When problems arise, I'm using and learning new meditation techniques to manage them. I'm getting better at it. I'm able to create an inhospitable environment so that emotional downturns can't really take root, though I still weather a little bit of their effects ( Read more... )

" I'm able to create an inhospitable environment so that emotional downturns can't really take root"

I'm really curious about this, because when the anxiety takes hold, I just spin and spin and no amount of logical analysis can get me to stop believing the feeling.

I heard about a new 'intranasal' light technology, kind of like those SAD lights (of which I have one), only more intense and so more beneficial. I have a very longtime known trustworthy friend's first hand experience of her father's dementia getting better after only 2 months of daily use. It's good for a lot of other things as well, depression being one of them. I'm getting one. I'll let you know how it goes. They're $500, which isn't bad when you consider the cost of therapy and/or anti-depressant meds.

I know what you mean. When I first started the energy work and meditation, I could see the cycles happening quite clearly for the first time, but I couldn't stop them. Exactly how you describe, a downward spiral totally unresponsive to logic. I'm still experimenting and I can't be sure until I've experienced one of the really bad ones to see if it will work, but I see a depressive cycle as something that sort of coils into me from an external source. I haven't always seen it as this and maybe that turns out to be wrong, but this is what I'm working with right now ( ... )

Thank you for describing that so thoroughly, that's really helpful. It will take practice and it will be a process over time for me too.

Thank you! That's one of the many reasons I love your elves! :) I think I still need to earn the healer one, but in the meantime, I'm getting the silver decorations on Arwen's Chase sleeves done on my upper arms. I'm working on smoothing out and shading the drawing from the Alley Cat Scratch site. My best friend's dad does ink now and he's looking for guinea pigs. He did a gorgeous cover up recently and I feel like I'm ready to go under his gun. ;)

Thank you, that really means a lot!

Love you too! *hugs* :)

I'm glad you were able to get a tattoo that is so meaningful to you in so many ways. Very cool. :-)

The only tattoos I have are dots from radiation. Not sure they count. :-)

Lovely tattoo! Your other one sounds like a good choice, too. I've never gotten one, but they seem like fun, especially when there's elvish involved :)

Thanks! Elvish tattoo ALL THE THINGS! Maybe not, but there are several more elvish and nouveau inspired pieces I want to have done. Plus a great big barn owl across my chest. ;)
