Melon Field 4 [Foxfire]

South of town is a thick forest. If Memento Eden were bound by logic -- which it isn't -- then the tall trees with their ring count would dictate that this is an ancient forest. The trees are so large and prosperous that they block out the sun, giving a haunted air to an already unusually silent wood. There is nothing growing on the forest ground, ( Read more... )

Not one to back down from a challenge, even it was from a melon, Tibarn swooped down into the patch.

After a moment, he grabbed Red 1 and flew a hundred or so feet in the high with it. He then dropped it, somewhat away from where everyone else was working.

Gravity, quoth the melon, what gravity?

Tibarn shrugged. He flew over to one of the large trees and broke off a fittingly large branch. He then grabbed Red 1 again, tossed it lightly into the air, then swung the branch at it as it fell back down toward him.

It's very nice, but apparently not good enough for the melons, which fail to react. Snobs.

The One Electronic found the melon in the middle of the night. Nothing better to do but explore when the humans are sleeping.

He picks up blue melon #3 and looks at it curiously.

It's an ordinary melon. Just blue. And oddly patterned. But other than that, it seems like an ordinary melon.

Figuring that there wasn't much to be lost by trying, T-O-E gave the melon a sharp crack with his steel fist.

The melon didn't react.

Orihime was searching for food, and being of that sort of character in her canon, had happened to wander into the woods. She had already found a few purple mushrooms and several edible-looking twigs. (They would be having a delicious stew! U-Unless Mist-san made that face.)

So it was only appropriate that upon seeing many melons, that she would try to take a melon for herself. Well. Borrow. In the great circle of digestion, certainly the melon would return to the ground somehow in some state.

So she squatted downwards and touched the Mutlicolored Melon #1.

The melon, as melons often did, lay there.

She knew that she should bring it back to the apartments, but as she often did, she suddenly felt attached to this melon. She patted it gently a few times.

"He-hello, Melon-san," she said politely.

Curious about the whole melon thing, Rukia decided to explore and see if she could find any. Upon arriving at the forest, she went straight to the rainbow-coloured melon #2. She just sat there for some time before poking it lightly...

The melon did nothing.

She just picked up the melon, climbed up to the nearest tree and threw it down again, waiting to see if it broke up.

It doesn't.
