But despite its proximity to the town, the forest quickly thickens, and this melon field sits in a perfect weedless square, looking odd against the wild bushes all around it. South of town is a thick forest. If Memento Eden were bound by logic -- which it isn't -- then the tall trees with their ring count would dictate that this is an ancient forest.
