Melon Field 5 [Chris]

The nearest melon field is a short trip to the north. But despite its proximity to the town, the forest quickly thickens, and this melon field sits in a perfect weedless square, looking odd against the wild bushes all around it. Squirrels and bears rabbits occasionally skirt about, though they flee at the first sign of people. Some sunlight ( Read more... )

The melon sits there like most melons do.

The attempt had no effect on either melon.

"Hmmm... how curious indeed," Aizen said as he approached the melon field. Selecting the 3rd green melon, he drew his zanpakutou in one swift, fluid motion, and began testing every sword form he could think of (thrust, chop, slash, hit with the flat of the blade, hit with the dull side, carving motion), taking care not to launch it with excessive force.

None of the attacks work. The melon remains unharmed.

Aizen moves on to the next tactic, attempting every form of bare-handed attack he can think of (open palm, closed fist, chop, stomp, kick, sideswipe, sweep, various punch/kick combinations).

The melon remains in one piece.

Kyouya just happened to be in the area, as he was exploring town. When he saw the melon patch, he decided to ignore it-- he'd heard the melons were supposedly unbreakable, and there was no point to trying. Wild melons probably wouldn't even make very good food.

Still, he was possibly a bit curious which type of melon could be that hard and grew in such strange colors. He paused on his way back into town, stopped next to green melon one, and picked it up.

The melon is picked up. Otherwise, nothing happens.

Kyouya frowns, turning the melon over in his hands and examining it for weak points. He pauses for a second and, holding the melon close to his ear, raps a few times on the shell to determine how thick the shell was.

The melon is pretty ripe from the sound of it. Take that as you will because the mod has no idea how thick a ripe melon's skin is.

Melon bashing wasn't particularly romantic. Manly, maybe (Oooh, very few people could break these, what if Tsuna could~?), and kind of funny, but that was about. She wasn't here for the melon bashing. She was here for the long walk through the woods, though the melon patch was much more interesting than she had imagined.

Especially those shining melons! Mist walked over to Shining Melon #4 and touched it, and she couldn't help letting out an "Oooo." If it weren't for the vine, it would be more like a magic rock or something.

It was a surprise when the walk through the woods was over. He had been enjoying the relaxing atmosphere that had settled on the two of them since they left the town behind them. This was a kind of peace they rarely enjoyed back at the noisy apartment building. But it felt like they had only just entered the forest when suddenly the small field appeared in front of them, jostling Tsuna from his half formed plans of sweeping Mist off her feet.

A quick glance around the melon patch was enough for even the most obtuse of observers to realize these weren't your regular fruit. Not a huge surprise, given their location, but Tsuna was taken aback none the less. He knelt down next to the melon Mist had poked to get a better look. "I always thought melons only came in green,' Tsuna muttered. "And didn't, you know... glow."

"Sometimes they come in pale yellow," she offered. "But... not glowing rainbow colors." She knocked on it firmly, knowing reflexively that she should be listening for some sort of sound.

Right. He had forgotten the yellow melons. Trying to act like he knew something about the ways of the melon, Tsuna closed his eyes when Mist knocked on it and pretended to listen to the sound as well.

Axel dropped down near the melon patch from a tree, doing a flip in the air on his way down, and stuck his landing by posing with both hands in the air, bending on one knee.

Satisfied with his entrance, he targeted Rainbow 3. Quickly improvising, Axel assaulted the melon with flashy, theatrically timed punches and kicks, declaring names for them as he went. "Ultimate Heroic Punch! Dark Universe Kick! Giga Melon Breaker!"
