Melon Field 2 [Yuri]

The forest north of the village stretches to the mountain ridge bordering the sea. But before the narrow mountain pass to the sea, before the end of the forest can quite be seen, there is a melon field. The land is a little hilly here, and the forest around it is uneven, but the field itself is perfectly leveled and square. Although interest in the ( Read more... )

Melons! Melons were yummy, melons were good! And these melons were interesting! Lambo stood in awe of the brightly colored fruit lying on the ground. "Wooooooow!!" he exclaimed before running over to Rainbow #4. Never mind that a 5-year-old child seemed to somehow make his way up to a melon field unsupervised--there were melons to crack!

Lambo wanted to try some of these melons! And Rainbow 4 looked way cooler than the rest of them! He pulled out one of many guns he somehow mystically kept on him at all times and pulled the trigger abruptly, aiming for the melon even though his eyes were closed.

All the bullet did was nudge the melon over to the side, rolling a bit in the dirt as the bullet itself, crumpled, fell to the ground next to it.

That--that wasn't right...was it? Bullets made things explode and make really loud noises! They weren't supposed to fall off the thing they were hitting! Bullets were stronger--it was like in that game with the rock and the scissors and the paper. Except bullets always won.

So Lambo pulled out another gun, similar in appearance, before shooting them both repeatedly. More than one bullet would do more damage, right?

Apparently not. The melon continued to sit unharmed, unmarred and very shiny.

Still in awe, Lambo was not going to be outdone by a piece of fruit. He hid the guns in his pockets (wherever those were) and instead pulled out a missile launcher from what looked like nowhere. He aimed at the melon and launched nine missiles simultaneously at it.

The explosions were quite impressive and the dust that was stirred up was great, but once it settled, the melon sat there, whole. Though it was quite dirty now - he'd accomplished that much at least.

Those were the only weapons Lambo had on him at the moment, and none of them had broken the stupid melon! Lambo ran towards the melon, brandishing one of the horns that had just been in his hair a moment ago, planning to stab the melon with it...

...when he slipped, tripped over the melon, and went flying over the rainbow row, landing face first on green melon #4.

Obviously, the rainbow melon continued to sit where it was and the new unintentional target did not react either. Poor Lambo...

Lambo heard something crack--but upon closer inspection of the melon, it seemed that he was the one who broke something. And then the pain began rushing through his face. He cried hysterically, tears streaming down his face as he laid it back down on the melon.

"T-Tol...er...ate!"

Perhaps not hurting his facial wounds any, the melon exploded.

At least it was sweet and juicy.

((%2 for Lambo!))
