The forest north of the village stretches to the mountain ridge bordering the sea. But before the narrow mountain pass to the sea, before the end of the forest can quite be seen, there is a melon field. The land is a little hilly here, and the forest around it is uneven, but the field itself is perfectly leveled and square. Although interest in the ( Read more... )

Panting and huffing, Rosette leaned her hands on her knees for a minute or so before righting herself. So this was one of the infamous fields, huh. It seemed like it was a little early in the year for melons, and yet there were still several in the field, shining with various colors. The girl grit her teeth determinedly and went over to grab the first melon in reach, which happened to be red melon #1.

"So, there's a way to get memories back here, huh?"

With that comment, she started poking the melon.

Rosette winced a little.

"Er ... hm."

She did have her gun with her. She took it out of her pocket and looked at it with some trepidation. She didn't want to try shooting it just yet, but maybe ...

She hit the rind, hard, with the handle of the gun.

There was a dull thud with each smack with the gun butt, but no cracks in said melon.

Now she was starting to get REALLY angry. She crouched down to look at the melon, then made a face at it. Out of sheer disgust, she got back up and spat at it. In her bad luck, she missed and hit green melon #1 instead.

"AUGH!"

The red melon was more than content to sit there and wait to be noticed again, but the green melon disdained being spat on and gave the blonde the cold shoulder.

Or maybe it was just a melon and really couldn't do much else. Who knew?

Rosette growled again and stomped the ground in frustration. Or rather, she would have, but her foot accidentally came down wrong on another nearby melon and she lost her footing completely.

"Wha- whoa!"

There were no end to the indignities inflicted on her. She landed on her behind, sitting squarely on the first red melon she had picked up.

And Rosette had a juice-covered behind to show for it. As well as a broken melon.
